Day Fifty Two

Once upon a time, a lifetime ago, I was a retail manager. Gas stations were my forte. I spent very nearly ten years with Texaco, or Star Service Stations to be exact. It had its pros and cons. Paying my staff National Minimum Wage meant that I had to sometimes scrape the dregs out of the employment bucket. And suffer them. But I was earning about 50% more, ten years ago, that I am today. This photo is of the branch I managed up till May 2005. When I left for Mexico. It was a good store. It's not a Texaco any more though. They sold up their UK owned sites in the UK shortly after I left.
